About CPD Qualifications™
We are a UK-based independent CPD accreditation organisation. We review professional learning, the organisations delivering it and the experience of the people who assess it.
Our role in professional learning
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) helps people maintain and develop the knowledge they use at work. It takes many forms, from a short technical update to a programme of practical training. Our role is to assess the professional learning submitted to us and explain what its approval covers.
We work with training businesses, education organisations, employer learning teams and individual professionals. We consider both UK and international applications, with evidence appropriate to the course, organisation or assessor being reviewed.
For a provider, this means submitting the material behind the training. For a learner or employer, it means being able to check the resulting approval record and understand its scope before relying on it.
What we assess
A course, a training organisation and an assessor each need a different review. Provider approval does not automatically accredit every course in an organisation's catalogue.
Course accreditation
We assess a named learning activity: its materials, learning outcomes, active CPD hours and how completion is established. A course may be delivered in a classroom, online or through a combination of methods.

We review the organisation delivering the training, including who is responsible, how learners are supported and how records and certificates are managed. Provider licences run for 12 months and require renewal.

We check professional qualifications and industry experience to establish a suitable subject scope. Approved assessors may be considered for course reviews that match their expertise; approval does not guarantee paid work.
Becoming an assessor
How an assessment reaches a decision
A review starts with the submitted evidence. For a course, that includes the learning materials themselves, the intended outcomes, the time needed to complete the learning and any assessment or completion requirements. A course outline alone cannot show all of these.
For example, if a workshop advertises three CPD hours, its timetable and activities should support that claim. Breaks and administration are separate from active learning. The proposed certificate should describe the same activity as the reviewed material.
Where evidence is missing or a change is needed, findings are recorded so the applicant can respond. The outcome may be approval, a request for revisions or a declined application. Submitting an application or making a payment does not guarantee approval.

Checking an approval
Public approval records let people check the organisation or individual named, the approval reference and the details published for that record. You can browse approved providers, accredited courses and assessors, or use verification when you have a reference number.
A CPD certificate records the activity or approval it was issued for. It does not create a regulated qualification or a licence to practise. An employer or professional body decides whether particular learning meets its own requirements. Our guide to CPD and regulated qualifications explains the distinction.
Public verification does not make private application documents public. Course materials and professional evidence are handled separately from directory information, as described in our data protection guidance.
